Things you need to know:
- The National Archaeological Museum is the largest Greek museum. Its rich collection includes the most important Greek artifacts from prehistory to late antiquity
- Originally it was opened to house the finds from the 19th c. Athenian excavations. Later finds from all over Greece were brought here
- More than 11.000 exhibits are on display including prehistoric and antique sculptures, vases, pottery, minor objects and more
- It is housed in an imposing end of 19th century neoclassical building
