There are 4 airports for London:

A number of transfer options to central London are available to passengers ranging from premium express service to low cost alternatives.

Luton (LTN)

Luton is the smallest airport of the four. It is located approximately 55 km from London to the North (see map below). Luton’s main target audience is the leisure travelers. The airport services mainly budget airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair or Wizzair, and chartered airlines like Thomas Cook. easyJet operates the most flights on this airport.

Passengers can travel to London both by rail and low cost bus service.

Gatwick Airport (LGW)

Gatwick is the second largest London airport after Heathrow. It is situated about 45 km from London to the South (see map below).

Gatwick has its own train station making railway the most popular transfer alternative into London. Coach services are also available.

Stansted Airport (STN)

Similarly to Luton, Stansted is also dominated by low cost airlines and focuses on leisure travelers. The major carrier operating the most flights here is Ryanair. The airport is about 40 km from London slightly to Northeast (see map below).

Next to the dedicated airport train into London, Stansted Express, 5 competing bus services are also available here.
